BENEATH THE WAVES

“In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, portrayed as femme fatales who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. Their song, though irresistibly sweet, was no less sad than sweet, and lapped both body and soul in a fatal lethargy, the forerunner of death and corruption.”

Sirens of Rose, a name to encompass both the allure and beauty of art, was chosen by founder Mea Pearson in 2006. In her work, she hopes to capture a vision, a story of both the world and herself. She believes a portrait can be a tool of empowerment and self-care. Through the compilation of both her compassion and skills in photography, she hopes to encourage confidence in others and capture moments they can hold dear forever, whether it's an event or an artistic vision of their own, and drowning doubt and fear in the process.

Mea has been doing photography for over a decade and is a certified mental health counselor.
